The Chester House Estate, Northamptonshire
I recently had the pleasure of capturing Ellie and Will’s lovely wedding at the Chester House Estate in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire—a place that holds many childhood memories for Ellie and her family. The day was brimming with happiness, and it was truly an honour to be part of such a heartfelt celebration.
The day started off at The Aviator Hotel in Sywell, where Will and his best men got ready against the exciting backdrop of a race day at the nearby airfield. The art deco style of the hotel lent a unique touch to the early photos. After snapping some vibrant shots outside the restaurant, vintage planes, and in the museum, we left Will and his crew at the bar for a bit of pre-ceremony cheer.
When we arrived at Chester House, Ellie was calmly getting ready surrounded by her loved ones. Her young daughter was in great spirits too, giving us the perfect chance for a sweet little photoshoot by the livingroom window. The bedroom, bathed in natural light, was ideal for taking photos of Ellie’s dress, jewellery, and the beautiful floral arrangements, leading up to a touching first look with her parents and bridesmaids.
I always aim to capture the natural, joyful, and romantic moments of a wedding day. I focus on real expressions and the spontaneous, genuine moments that really tell the story of the day, steering clear of staged poses to bring out the true emotions and distinctive details of each celebration.
Ellie and Will’s relaxed approach made the day particularly memorable, allowing me to capture the joy and affectionate moments throughout their celebration. I believe wedding photography should capture not just the look but the feel of the day, reflecting the unique story and love of the couple.
