How Claire O'Brien Photography collects, uses and protects your information.
Last updated: 30 October 2026
Claire O'Brien Photography is committed to treating your personal information with care and respect. This notice explains what information is collected when you visit this website or make an enquiry.
Who is responsible for your information
The data controller is Claire O'Brien Photography, based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. You can contact Claire at claireobrienphotography@gmail.com.
Information that may be collected
- Your name, email address, telephone number and preferred contact details.
- Information you choose to share about your wedding, family, venue, dates or photography plans.
- Booking, contract, payment and service records when you become a client.
- Basic technical information needed to operate and protect this website.
- Information about pages visited, device type, browser, approximate location and how you reached the website, but only if you accept analytics cookies.
How your information is used
Your information may be used to respond to enquiries, prepare proposals, manage bookings, deliver photography services, meet legal and accounting obligations, improve the website and protect the business from misuse.
The lawful basis will usually be taking steps towards a contract, fulfilling a contract, meeting a legal obligation or pursuing a legitimate business interest. Consent is the basis for optional website analytics and any marketing emails. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
Free guides
If you request a free guide, your name and email address are used to send it to you. You'll only receive marketing emails if you've ticked to agree, and every email includes a way to unsubscribe.
Service providers
This website is hosted by Hostinger. Enquiries, free guide requests, contracts, invoices and client communication are managed through Studio Ninja. Client galleries and gift vouchers are provided through Pic-Time, which also processes gallery orders and voucher payments. If you consent to analytics, website usage information is processed through Google Analytics 4. When you book, information may also be shared where needed with album and print suppliers, payment processors, insurers, Claire's accountant, and any second photographer, assistant or replacement photographer working on your booking. These providers process information on behalf of the business and operate under their own privacy and security terms. Information is shared only where needed to provide the requested service, understand website performance or meet a legal obligation.
International processing
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, Claire O'Brien Photography uses providers that offer appropriate safeguards for international data transfers, such as an applicable adequacy decision or approved contractual protections.
How long information is kept
Information is kept only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, including client care, legal, tax, accounting and dispute-resolution requirements. When it is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised securely.
Your photographs
Client galleries are private and shared only with the people you choose. Galleries stay online for four months, and edited wedding images are kept for at least six months after the wedding, so please download and back up your photographs.
As set out in your contract, Claire may share a selection of images on her website, social media, online portfolios and in publications to show her work. If you'd prefer some or all of your images not to be used, let Claire know in writing. For weddings, please do this at least a month before the day. Names are only shared alongside family photographs if you've agreed to this in your questionnaire, and Claire will always consider a request to remove an image.
Where children are photographed, the adult who books confirms they have permission from the children's parents or guardians.
Cookies
This website uses essential browser storage to remember your cookie choice. Google Analytics cookies are optional and are not loaded unless you accept them. You can reject analytics or change your choice at any time using “Cookie preferences” in the website footer. More detail is available in the cookie policy.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your information, and to ask for a portable copy. You can also withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing.
To make a request, email claireobrienphotography@gmail.com. You also have the right to raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
